Melon mesh tank Coil in Bristol: the budget shortlist
Melon in Bristol: 8 units tested over 4 weeks, mesh tank formats, priced per 10 ml for Bristol.
Coil life, liquid cost and the melon habit
We run melon the same way in Bristol: same mesh tank, same 4 days, same coil resistance. The only variable was the coil, and that turned out to be the thing buyers get wrong.
A melon mesh tank from the budget options in Bristol costs about £2.72 per 10 ml once delivery is counted. That number decides whether the habit survives the first month, not the sticker price.
The short version: melon in Bristol works if the mesh tank, the coil and the strength are chosen as one system. Everything below is what we measured while doing exactly that.
What a melon mesh tank really costs in Bristol
If you are looking at melon in Bristol, the first question is not strength. It is whether the mesh tank you are quoting actually fits the device on your desk.
How we tested melon in a mesh tank
- Pick the mesh tank that fits the device already on your desk, not the one on the headline page.
- Order before 14:00 so the parcel leaves the same day and lands inside 2–4 business days.
- Choose strength against the ceiling in the UK, which is 20 mg/mL for retail here.
- Batch code and production date, so a melon bottle turned in 4 weeks ago is not sold as new.
- Stock depth: 8 lines held, so the shortlist does not turn into a special order.
- Returns window and who pays return postage when a mesh tank arrives sealed but wrong.
- Clear PG/VG ratio on the label, which predicts throat hit more accurately than strength.
Where melon goes wrong
- Chasing a discount on a mesh tank that then needs an adapter nobody in Bristol stocks.
- Mixing melon with a coil rated for a different wattage, which dulls the flavour and drains liquid faster.
- Treating the advertised £49 entry kit as the real cost when refills run £2.72 per 10 ml.

Frequently asked questions
Why does melon taste burnt?
Almost always the coil, not the liquid. On the mesh tank units we ran, a coil past 6 days turned the melon blend itself harsh.
What nicotine strength should melon start at?
Start at whatever the UK allows on the label. If you already smoke, drop one step; if not, half of it for a mesh tank.
