Licorice squonk mod Coil in Bristol: the review shortlist
Licorice in Bristol: 8 units tested over 9 weeks, squonk mod formats, priced per 10 ml for Bristol.
Stock, batch codes and the dispatch window
Licorice prices move with import duty more than with brand. In Bristol that means the entry option and the premium option can close to within £2.3 per 10 ml.
Licorice in a squonk mod is not the same product you see in a catalogue photo, and the price per 10 ml is where the gap shows. In Bristol the liquid, the coil and the power setting all have to agree before the flavour actually lands.
The short version: licorice in Bristol works if the squonk mod, the coil and the strength are chosen as one system. Everything below is what we measured while doing exactly that.
What a licorice squonk mod really costs in Bristol
If you are looking at licorice in Bristol, the first question is not strength. It is whether the squonk mod you are quoting actually fits the device on your desk.
How we tested licorice in a squonk mod
- Pick the squonk mod that fits the device already on your desk, not the one on the headline page.
- Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.
- Order before 14:00 so the parcel leaves the same day and lands inside 2–4 business days.
- Batch code and production date, so a licorice bottle turned in 9 weeks ago is not sold as new.
- Spare parts availability for squonk mod in Bristol, since tanks and pods go first.
- Returns window and who pays return postage when a squonk mod arrives sealed but wrong.
- Coil type inside the squonk mod, because mesh and wire age at different rates.
Where licorice goes wrong
- Treating the advertised £39 entry kit as the real cost when refills run £2.3 per 10 ml.
- Assuming 20 mg/mL is uniform across brands, because two suppliers can label the same number differently.
- Matching strength to the device instead of the draw, which is why licorice tastes flat after two days.
The rules that apply here
UK rules cap e-liquids at 10 ml and 20 mg/ml, with batch codes on every bottle. Shipping of nicotine to Bristol runs through tracked freight only, which is why the quoted window is stated per order.

Frequently asked questions
How long does licorice in a squonk mod last?
In Bristol we measured 9 to 8 days per unit depending on the coil. The bottle outlasts the coil, so the coil is what you replace.
Is licorice legal to sell in the UK?
UK rules cap e-liquids at 10 ml and 20 mg/ml, with batch codes on every bottle.
Why does licorice taste burnt?
Almost always the coil, not the liquid. On the squonk mod units we ran, a coil past 4 days turned the licorice blend itself harsh.
